Sports fan from all over the country and even the rest of the world know that the Buffalo Bills are the members of the professional football team from Buffalo, New York. This team, which played seven of its eight home games in Orchard Park, competes in the National Football League, Eastern Division. The franchise started in 1960 as one of the American Football League’s charter members. The team was also first to join the NFL after the merger of the AFL and the NFL in 1970. The Buffalos have become famous when they won two consecutive AFL championships in 1964 and 1965. However, after the merger, the club has yet to win a single title. The franchise got its Buffalo Bills name after the All-American Football Conference Buffalo Bills team. The AAFC Buffalo Bills team, in turn, got its name from William Frederick Cody. It is also important to note that the Bills are not the only NFL franchise that hail from New York State. Other New York NFL teams are the New York Giants and the New York Jets.

Much like any other NFL teams, the Buffalo Bills sported many team traditions that have persisted throughout the years. First of which is the Buffalo Jills, who simply are the cheerleaders of the Buffalos. In 1960, Buffalo cheerleaders were composed of only 8 members and they were just known as the Buffalo Bills Cheerleaders. However, in recent years, a group of women who wore revealing wool costumes formed the Buffalo Jills. Unlike other NFL teams’ cheerleaders, the Buffalo Jills are not really sponsored by the team they are cheering for. Instead, they are sponsored by WGRF, WEDG, and WHTT stations of Citadel Broadcasting.

Still like other NFL franchises, the Buffalo Bills have also undergone several logo and uniform changes. In the 1960s, the team colors were white, royal blue and silver. These colors were very much similar to the ones used by the Detroit Lions. In 1962, the Bills changed not only their helmets from silver with blue numbers to white with a bison logo, but they also changed the colors to red, blue and white. In 1965, the team added blue and red stripes on the helmet. At present, the Bills wear scarlet helmets with two white, one navy blue, two nickel, and two royal blue stripes plus a white facemask. Meanwhile, the bison logo is now royal blue with a streak of scarlet, white horn, and an eyeball with a pupil that is royal blue. The most famous fight songs of the team include “Talkin Proud” by Alden Schutte, “Go Bills!” by Marv Levy, “Buffalo Bills Shout” by Buffalo Bills All-Star and “Feel the Power” by an unknown artist.

Even if the Buffalo Bills have not won a single championship since the 70s, the team boasts of very popular personalities. Probably the most popular player of the team is OJ Simpson, who was a running back in the class of 1985. Other Hall of Fame players from the Buffalo franchise include James Lofton, Thurman Thomas, and Marv Levy.

Freddie Brister is a huge fan of NFL and the Buffalo Bills. Check out his Buffalo Bills Gear or other articles about the Bills.

In 1941, Walt Disney distributed his fourth animated feature, Dumbo. Based on the children’s book of the same name, written by Helen Aberson and drawn by Harold Perl, Dumbo follows the adventures of Jumbo, Jr., a baby elephant. Because of his unnaturally large ears, which give him the power to fly, Jumbo, Jr. is nicknamed “Dumbo.” His only friend, other than his mother, is Timothy the mouse.

When Disney submitted his first cut of Dumbo to RKO, their distributor at the time, the studio was dismayed to find the running time was only 64 minutes. George J. Schaefer, the president of RKO, demanded Disney either edit the feature down to a short film or beef it up to 70 minutes. Disney refused, and insisted Dumbo be released as an A picture, in the maximum number of theaters nation-wide. Schaefer reluctantly agreed.

It cost Disney only $ 813,000 to complete Dumbo, which was roughly half the cost of Snow White and a third of the cost of Pinocchio. Along with Snow White, it would be one of the only two feature to turn a profit for Disney during the 1940s. Its original release, in 1941, went on to gross $ 1.3 million – a monumental success at the time. Indeed, according to Wikipedia, Dumbo was supposed to grace the December cover of Time magazine, only to be dropped at the last minute to cover the December 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. Indeed, the Second World War would nearly break Disney’s young studio as they were quickly recruited by the United States government to animate a number of training and propaganda cartoons for the Armed Forces.

Dumbo earned the nomination for and subsequently won the 1941 Academy Awards for Original Music Score. It was also nominated for Best Song for Frank Churchill and Ned Washington’s “Baby Mine” and won the 1947 Cannes Film Festival award for Best Animation Design. The popularity of the film was capitalized on again during the 1949 re-release, making a massive profit for both RKO and Disney.

Dumbo was one of the first movies to be aired on television as part of Disney’s anthology series, solidifying its popularity for an entire new generation of American viewers. In 1981, it was the first Disney film to be released on VHS. In 2006, the 60th Anniversary Special Edition was released to wide acclaim, while a special edition “Big Top Edition” was released on DVD.

If you want to clean foreclosures for a living, it’s an excellent time to start this type of business. According to an article in “USA Today” entitled, ‘Trash-out’ firms clean up in foreclosure biz, “Entrepreneur Magazine named it one of the fastest growing businesses on its 2008 “Hot 100 Fastest Growing Businesses” list.

If you’re wondering why so many want to jump on the “clean foreclosures for a living” bandwagon, following are three more reasons why.

1. Room for Growth: When you clean foreclosures for a living, you have the opportunity to expand beyond just that. Foreclosure cleaners are multi-purpose business owners. Because they are expected to do everything from yard work to painting to hanging sheetrock, they can expand the business in any number of ways.

For example, after foreclosures are no longer in the news — and this is not going to happen for quite a while according to experts — they can focus on just real estate cleanup, or landscaping, or general contracting.

The point is, while a foreclosure cleaning business may start out as just that, it’s a business that can grow and change with the economic times. With so many opportunities for expansion, foreclosure clean out is a great business to start.

2. Self-Employment: To own a business is the American dream. And, statistics prove that self-employed individuals make more money than those who work for others. In fact, one of the quickest ways to become wealthy in the USA is to own your own business.

When you decide to clean foreclosures for a living, you’re taking the beginning steps to achieving personal wealth. And, there is no shortage of work, if recent statistics are anything to go by.

Why Foreclosure Cleanup Companies Are Booming

Consider this: According to Moody’s Economy, a leading provider of financial information to capital markets, approximately 2.8 million U.S. households will face foreclosure, turn over their homes to their lender or sell the properties for less than their mortgage’s value by the end of this year (2009).

Foreclosure cleanup companies can literally rake in the dough, which brings us to the last reason you may want to jump on the “clean foreclosures for a living” bandwagon.

3. It’s the Money Baby! Most businesses fail within the first three years. But, work is so plentiful for individuals who want to clean foreclosures right no, that you can make a success of this business immediately — if you go about it in the right way.

Even simple foreclosure cleanup and trashout jobs pay well. You can garner anywhere from several hundred (at a minimum) to several thousand dollars per job.

Each job is different, but the work has to get done. And, banks and real estate agencies pay to have it done. They have to because they’re not equipped to handle this type of work.

One of the most appealing qualities of heavy metal has always been its defiance of popular trends. While other genres of music groveled for ‘crossover appeal’ and mainstream acceptance, heavy metal has always been unapologetic about what it is. In the 1990’s, the plague of ‘nu metal’ struck. ‘Nu Metal’ fused watered down heavy metal riffs with mopey, introspective lyrics more commonly associated with bad ‘adult contemporary’ artists.

Fortunately, the cancerous tumor in the body of heavy metal is now in remission and the tide is turning back. Part of the cure has blown across the Norse sea like a cold winter monsoon and has now reached American shores. Amon Amarth is a band from Tumba, Sweden founded in 1992 who are the latest”and most commercially successful”proponent of a genre known as Viking metal. As the name implies, bands from the Viking metal genre sing about important topics such as sailing, lusting for adventure and conquest, furious winds and treacherous seas. Viking metal bands are too busy metaphorically conquering and pillaging to worry about such trivialities as their feelings, let alone grooming themselves.

Amon Amarth took their name from a location in J.R.R. Tolkiens Middle Earth, and their name means Mount Doom in the Elvish language of Sindarin. Drawing musical inspiration from bands such as Bolt Thrower and their Viking metal predecessors Bathory and Enslaved, who in turn took their cue from the great American band Manowar, Amon Amarth plays their own unique style of melodic death metal. While they are hesitant to identify themselves as Viking metal, they take most of their lyrical content from Viking history and Norse mythology.

The band signed with Metal Blade Records in 1998 and their popularity has skyrocketed worldwide. 2006s With Oden On Our Side earned the band headliner status in North American and has made them one of the most popular metal acts in the US.

Amon Amarth recently extended their deal with Metal Blade records and released their latest album in September 2008 called ‘Twilight of the Thunder God’. The album continues their thematic examination of their Viking ancestors, and has become their biggest seller to date.

Heavy metal is gaining strength and resuming its powerful greatness under the marauding sound of Amon Amarth. The band tours constantly, so dont miss their brutal onslaught when they come to a town near you.
