If you dream of the perfect king salmon fishing trip, welcome to your dream come true at Canada’s Queen Charlotte Islands – or as the Haida (the indigenous people of the Pacific Northwest) named it, Haida Gwaii, Islands of the People. This 200-mile-long archipelago of 150 islands is 60 miles off the coast of British Columbia, Canada, and acts as a gigantic fishing net to catch migrating fish on their way south each year.

The Japanese current washes over the continental shelf, bringing with it rich nutrients to feed vast schools of “bait” fish for the Chinooks; Kings; and bottom fish, such as Halibut, Rockfish and Lingcod. Eager to return to their rivers of origin all along the West Coast of North America, the big fish must make their way through the islands, feeding as they go. When you book a Queen Charlotte salmon fishing trip, you put yourself in a great position to take advantage of this vast flow of marine life and to enjoy the greatest fishing trip ever.

The islands are remote, with no roads connecting their east coasts, where most residents live, and their west coasts, where all the fishing lodges are clustered. The only ways in and out are by air or sea. Ferries run from the mainland, and some Queen Charlotte salmon fishing outfits fly their customers directly from various Canadian cities to their lodges. The ferry trips provide stunning views of fiords in the Inside Passage, with sightings of Orcas, Bald Eagles or Humpbacks munching on Krill along the way.

There are no crowds of tourists to contend with; the air is pure and bracing and the salmon fishing charters offer boats outfitted with good food, restroom facilities and various beverages of your choice. High-quality raingear is also provided –and did we mention – there’s great fishing?

Peak season is May to September and it is wise to book your trip well in advance. Your stay can be in a land-based or floating lodge. After a thrilling day of fishing, guests can relax with cocktails and enjoy stunning mountain and ocean views while their guides clean their fish. If time permits, other attractions can include hiking, parks, beaches, kayaking, even exploring old abandoned Haida villages and totem poles.

If your preference is to kick back after your strenuous day, many of the lodges feature hot tubs and game rooms for your comfort and entertainment.

So, make your fishing dreams come true (and also gather some good fish stories!), go ahead and book your Queen Charlotte Islands salmon charter!

When you’re looking for king salmon fishing charters in Canada, author Stephen Daniels recommends you check out North Coast Fishing for their Queen Charlotte Islands charters.

Humanity has long gathered together in groups both small and large to enjoy each other’s company in celebrations for one thing or another. The fact is that these gatherings have been social bonding events since the dawn of time. Whether based on religion or the mere anniversary of various events and rites of passage, these parties often form the bedrock of many cultural structures. In short, they constitute some of the most important ingredients of the social compact.

Celebrations are, at their core, parties. Though they can range from subdued, low-key affairs to wild recreational events, they all have one thing in common: they are designed to bring together family and friends in a social setting to honor some occasion.

There are some celebrations that are found everywhere in the world. Almost everybody celebrates a new birth, and the subsequent anniversary of that birth each year thereafter. Likewise, most cultures engage in celebration of marriage. It is no wonder that these types of events are honored almost universally, since the family forms the foundation of most societies.

Some cultures choose to celebrate different types of events as well. In the lands where Christianity took root, most people honor and celebrate Christmas and Easter. The Jews celebrate Hanukah, the Passover, and a host of other festivals that honor poignant moments from their long and sometimes tortured history. Across the world, every culture has dates, times, and events that are worthy of honoring.

Take Saint Patrick’s for example. Sure, it is ostensibly designed for the celebration of all things Irish – but its colorful traditions and party atmosphere have an appeal that transcends its ethnic orientation. We all feel just a little bit Irish during that greenest of occasions.

In the United States, there are a number of holidays that are celebrated each year, all of which are an attempt to maintain the memory of key events in American history. Thanksgiving is, of course, the prototypical American holiday. It honors the strength and courage of our pilgrim forefathers as they braved the elements and hazards of the New World.

Of course, the Independence Day celebrations are among the rowdiest of the year. Held every year on July 4th, these celebrations are seen in nearly every town and hamlet across the country, as citizens gather, party, and end the celebration with traditional firework displays that serve to remind us all of the Grace and power that helped forge this great land.

And what would celebrations be if commercial anniversaries had not been created. Businesses recognize the potential inherent in such gatherings and occasions, and have responded with holidays uniquely suited to padding their pockets and corporate coffers. Whether it is Valentine’s, Mother’s Day, or a host of other made-to-order celebrations, these holidays are as much about selling goods as they are about demonstrating love.

From celebrations that honor the seasons to modern day wonders like the Super Bowl and World Series, mankind never seems to run out of reasons to gather and rejoice. Celebrations are, quite simply, among the most important of the rituals that renew our common human bonds.

Check out some movie reviews below. You can get to a good film download site through the search engines. To get some good sites try to search phrases like “Download Films Online”, “Music Videos Downloads”, or “Download Internet Movies”.

Red Sun: East meets West in this strange tale of a samurai fighter chasing a priceless Japanese sword stolen from a train crossing the American West. Cast includes Charles Bronson, Ursula Andress, Toshiro Mifune, Alain Delon, and Capucine. (112 minutes, 1972)

Mother: Sad youthful female who lives with her mom plans to carry out suicide. Her mommy invests the day trying to keep her from doing it. Well performed, prompted, and revised, although still just a stage drama. Cast includes Sissy Spacek and Anne Bancroft. (96 minutes, 1986)

Belle de Jour: Bunuel’s wry and upsetting story of a virgirial newlywed who works the night switch in a high-style Parisian brothel, unbeknownst to her spouse. Bunuel’s recipe of stunning topic belies the acute humor of his script (cowritten with JeanClaude Catriere). Cast includes Catherine Deneuve, Jean Sorel, Michel Piccoli, Genevieve Page, Francisco Rabal, and Pierre Clementi. (100 minutes, 1967)

Curdled: Curdled is a black comedy in regards to youthful female addicted to the how’s and why’s of vicious crimes, who gets a job scrubbing up after them on the Post-Forensic Tidying Service. Cast includes William Baldwin, Angela Jones, Bruce Ramsay, Lois Chiles, Barry Corbin, Mel Gorham, Tulip Fuentes, Kelly Preston, and Carmen Lopez. Grisly (94 minutes, 1996)

Dusty: Discreet, feeling little film in regards to a dingo (crazy mutt of the bush), seized when a doggy and ultimately brought up by an old gentleman (Kerr). Grownups can like it as much as babies. Cast includes John Richardson. Bill Kerr, Noel Trevarthen, Carol Bums, Nicholas Holland, John Stanton, and Kate Edwards. (88 minutes, 1982)

Rambo: First Blood Part: Comic magazine action myth of one-man army who goes to Cambodia looking for American MIAs and finds he’s been duped by Uncle Sam. By no means uninteresting although remarkably dumb; if one were to take it critically, it could be considered pretty weak, as it capitalizes on genuine-life frustrations of MIA families and Vietnam vets. Cast includes Sylvester Stallone, Richard Crenna, Charles Napier, Julia Nickson, Steven Berkoff, and Martin Kove. (95 minutes, 1985)

Hail Mary: Uninteresting, overblown updating of the tale of Christ’s birth, with Mary a student basketball competitor! Even though still a virgin, she finds herself pregnant. This film kindled much dissention and was even condenmed by the Pope. Cast includes Myriem Roussel, Thierry Rode, Philippe Lacoste, Manon Anderson, and Juliette Binoche. (107minutes, 1985)

The Guyver: All-American Armstrong, contaminated by an extraterrestrial device, finds that he is an armored superhero, an excellent thing, as long as virtually everyone else in the film might turn into a frightening beast, like CIA representative Hamill, who turns into a large cockroach. Awkward clumps of humor only make the contrived structure appear even more mindless. (92 minutes, 1992)

The Little Theatre of Jean Renoir: Quartet of little stories in reference to human respectability and beneficence of country living (instead of subsisting in a dehumanized city forest). Renoir’s celluloid swan melody might not be amid his best, however still has much to offer. Cast includes Jeanne Moreau, Femand Sardou, Francoise Arnoul, Jean Carmet, Marguerite Cassan, and Dominique Labourier. (100 minutes, 1971)

Was this list of films helpful? Don’t forget, search with terms like “Download Movies Legal” and “Download Movie Rental” to find download sites. A final search with “Download Full Length Movies” might get you what you need if the other ones fail.

It”s amazing how many movie download sites there are. Google “Movies Download” and see what I mean. Buy Films Many movie download sites offer DVD quality movie downloads. High speed connections allow even movie downloading these days. Search “Movie Clip Download” to see what I mean.

Soul food recipes that contain sweet onions may seem like relatively new recipes, but the sweet onions were first introduced around the turn of the century. Word has it that a soldier brought some sweet onion seeds from Corsica to the Pacific Northwest.

Overtime, farmers realized what a special thing they had in the sweet onions. They soon began spreading the news far and wide. Of all the healthy compounds contained in onions, two stand out. They are sulfur and quercetin; both antioxidants.

They each have been shown to help neutralize free radicals in the body. They also protect the membranes of the cells from damage. Quercetin is also found in red wine and tea, but in much lower quantities.

Most health professionals recommend eating raw onions for maximum benefit. However, cooking makes them more versatile and does not significantly reduce their potency. In fact, unlike sulfur compounds quercetin can withstand the heat of cooking.

It has been well documented that onions help prevent thrombosis and reduce hypertension, according to the American Heart Association. The juice of one yellow or white onion a day can raise HDL cholesterol, the good stuff, by thirty percent.

Anyone can tell you that sweet onions, when used for soul food recipes, sell out very quickly. It is always a good idea to stock up when you can. Here are a few sweet onion tips.

Look for sweet onions that are light and golden brown in color. Make sure they have a shiny tissue thin skin and firm, tight, dry necks. Ordinary storage onions are darker and have a thicker skin. When cut into them, sweet onions should have a creamy white interior. Avoid onions that have soft spots or surface bruises.

1. The bigger and firmer the onion, the easier it will be to cut.
2. Use a sharp knife. A dull knife can slip and will mash rather than slice through the onion.
3. Use a straight edge knife rather than a serrated knife for cleaner cuts.
4. Be sure your cutting board is positioned securely on the counter. If necessary, place a damp kitchen towel underneath to keep the board from sliding around.
5. If cutting onions ahead of time pack them in a plastic zipper lock freezer bag. Squeeze all the air out, then enclose in a second plastic zipper lock freezer bag. This will help to keep everything in your fridge from smelling and tasting like onions.
6. Use pre cut onions within two days.
7. Save onion trimmings, including the papery brown skin and add to soup stock for golden color. Store them in a well sealed plastic zipper lock freezer bag in your freezer.

Most sweet onions are usually high in water and sugar content. They require more care when storing. Treat them gently to avoid bruising. Sweet onions will keep for six weeks at the most. Cut onions should be wrapped tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerated

There is no official industry standard, but a sweet onion should contain at least six percent sugar. Some sweet onions have recorded sugar levels of up to twelve percent. These are especially great for soul food recipes. Regular storage onions usually range from three to five percent in sugar content.

The best sweet onions deliver a burst of sweetness when bitten into. They have very little if any sharpness, and possess a subtle, fruity flavor. They should still taste like an onion, but be much sweeter and milder. Sweet onions are a premium product and as such cost a bit more than storage onions.

The soul food recipes that include sweet onions are truly fabulous! Get this FREE fantastic book of delicious, easy to prepare healthy recipes for you and your family right now? Get your FREE book here: soul food recipes

The last thing many people think about when it comes to living abroad as an expat in another country is the cost of food, but it is this very element that creates such a stark contrast in terms of cost of living between the United States and countries around the world. The United States Department of Labor showed that in 2011 the average annual grocery bill for the average American and the United States with $ 6,500. This is in comparison to Mexico where you can have the same amount and quality of foods for a mere $ 1,000 per year.

Those numbers are staggering in their raw form. You can save at least $ 5,000 per year on your grocery bill alone while living in another country? It’s somewhat staggering in its simplicity, and yet it is absolute true. And what is truly astonishing about this fact is that expats with families stand to gain even more, as the savings only grow the more people in your family you have to feed.

The average family of four in the United States of America needs around $ 20,000 per year to cover their basic grocery bill. Meanwhile, in countries like Bulgaria and Mexico, the same families are eating for around $ 4,000 per year. That’s a savings of $ 16,000 a year simply by living in another country as an expat where the groceries cost that much less.

The savings are still there, even if you are just a pair of expats rather than a family, because while you need a minimum of 13 thousand per year to eat in the U.S., you only need about 2k per year in other countries. That’s your total cost of food per year. And while some people have been brainwashed into thinking everything outside of the U.S. is inferior, think about the fact that the U.S. imports most of its produce and fruits. When you realize that, you can see how living as an expat in the same countries where the food is produced allows you the greatest savings.

Think about that the next time you head to your local grocery store to pay obscenely high costs for produce and fruits. You have a global range of options at your disposal, and while you might only be allowed to save pennies via coupons and other discounts in the U.S., you can save yourself literal thousands per year by choosing to live abroad and buy your produce locally where it is produced.

The lifestyle of the international traveler has dozens of benefits, ranging from the ability to explore amazing new places around the planet to enjoy a permanent retirement through international investments.
